Domestic Violence Action Coalition (DVAC 2.0)
The Domestic Violence Action Coalition (DVAC) was organized in 2008 by the Covina Woman’s Club to unite community organizations in support of victims and survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, and elder abuse. What began as a small local effort to honor the life of Monica Thomas, a victim of domestic violence, has grown into a strong, collaborative coalition committed to prevention, education, and survivor support.

Today, DVAC brings together a diverse network of nonprofit organizations, service providers, educators, and community partners committed to prevention, education, and survivor support. Participating organizations include Every ONE Free, House of Ruth, Serenity Foster Care and Adoption, YWCA San Gabriel Valley, Crossroads Inc., Project Sister Family Services, National Council of Negro Women Pomona Section, Healed Women Heal, and Women’s and Children’s Crisis Shelter, among many others.
DVAC members meet monthly to plan and implement programs focused on prevention, education, community awareness, and survivor advocacy. Through collaboration and shared resources, the coalition works to strengthen the community response to violence and support individuals and families on their paths to safety and healing.
DVAC meets on the third Monday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Covina Woman’s Club, with a Zoom option available to allow broader participation from partner agencies and community members.
The Covina Woman’s Club proudly supports DVAC through ongoing partnership, community drives, and awareness initiatives that provide essential resources to those in need. By convening organizations and fostering cooperation, DVAC continues to play a vital role in promoting safety, reducing violence, and supporting survivors throughout the communities it serves.
