Domestic Violence Action Coalition (DVAC 2.0)
The Domestic Violence Action Coalition (DVAC) was organized in 2008 by the Covina Woman’s Club to bring community organizations together in support of victims and survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, and elder abuse. What began as a small local effort to honor the life of Monica Thomas, a victim of domestic violence, has grown into a strong and collaborative coalition.
Today, DVAC includes more than 120 members representing over 40 agencies, including nonprofits, service providers, educators, and community partners. Members meet monthly to plan and implement programs focused on prevention, education, awareness, and survivor support. Through collaboration and shared resources, DVAC works to strengthen community response and reduce violence across the communities it serves.
DVAC meets on the third Monday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Covina Woman’s Club. A Zoom meeting option is also available, allowing broader participation from partner agencies and community members.
The Covina Woman’s Club proudly supports DVAC through ongoing partnership, community drives, and awareness initiatives that provide essential resources to those in need. By convening organizations and fostering cooperation, DVAC continues to play a vital role in addressing violence, promoting safety, and supporting individuals and families impacted by abuse.
